5 Days Uganda Gorillas, Wildlife and Chimpanzee Trekking is designed to take you to Queen Elizabeth National Park one of the most famous National Parks in Uganda to encounter a variety of wildlife including the famous tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector, the 4 members of the Big 5 like Elephants, Buffaloes, Leopards, Lions among other species like Antelopes, spotted hyenas, Hippos and endangered chimpanzees in Kalinzu Forest or Kyambura Gorge making it a suitable option for the best Uganda safari, wildlife sightings and boat launch safari on the Kazinga Channel. Later, proceed with your Uganda gorilla wildlife safari to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park for Mountain Gorilla Trekking.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is located in South Western region of Uganda in Kanungu district. It is best known for Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience, The Park has almost half of the Word’s population of Mountain Gorillas with a population of about 459 individual mountain gorillas, 21 habituated gorilla families in the different sectors of the park like Nkuringo, Buhoma, Rushaga and Ruhija which gives a great opportunity for Gorilla Trekking and Gorilla Habituation.
The Trip ends at Lake Bunyonyi for a relaxation a place of little birds. The Trip will end at Lake Bunyonyi is located in the extreme border between Uganda and Rwanda and it is known for offering a great rest and relaxation to travelers due to its beautiful and breathtaking views.
Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe International Airport – Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Visit Kasoga community
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, meet our company representative for pick up and briefing about your 5 Days Uganda Gorillas, Wildlife and Chimpanzee Trekking and later set off to Queen Elizabeth National Park one of the most visited national parks in Uganda to encounter Uganda kob, Elephant, Warthogs, Giant forest hog, Caped buffaloes, Spotted hyenas and big cats like Leopards, Lions, Genals, Civets, and Serval cats.
The drive will take you across the equator landmark with an en-route stop at the Equator Landmark to observe a water experiments and to take a memorial photo with one leg standing in the northern and another one in the southern hemisphere then proceed with your drive through farms of the incredible Ankole cattle and local people working in their plantation. Upon arrival, you will check into your Lodge for a break and relaxation. Later, you will visit Kasoga Community for cultural encounter. Dinner and Overnight Stay.
Day 2: Queen Elizabeth National Park – chimpanzee trekking – Afternoon boat cruise – Evening game drive
Upon waking up on day 2 of 5 Days Uganda Gorillas, Wildlife and Chimpanzee Trekking, you will have a heavy breakfast then after you will head to the park’s center for briefing by a ranger guide about the rules of this activity. After you will go Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee trekking. Once you meet chimpanzees, you will have 1 hour of watching them carrying out their daily activities such as grooming their babies, hunting, and jumping in tree branches. Later, return to your lodge to have refreshments, relaxation and lunch.
Later in the afternoon, you will go for an amazing boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. Here you will spot various animals like hippopotamuses, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species like Grey-Headed Kingfisher, little bee- eater, grey capped warbler, pin tailed whydah, slender billed weaver etc. After your afternoon boat cruise, have a short break to relax and later go for your evening game drive in Kasenyi track in search of the big predators of the park such as Lions, Leopards, and Spotted hyenas since they are so active during evening hours and early morning hours, later return to your lodge to relax, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Game drive through Ishasha sector and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Wake up early morning to have a delicious breakfast, check out of your lodge and drive to Ishasha to look for tree climbing lions, other animals like Elephants, Caped buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, Warthogs among others. Have a short break lunch and later drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park the home to the endangered Mountain Gorillas and one of the oldest forest in Uganda. Upon arrival at the park, you will check into your lodge for Dinner and Overnight Stay.
Day 4: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park – Gorilla trekking – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation
On this day after having your heavy breakfast, drive to the park information center for briefing about the do’s and don’ts to follow during Gorilla Trekking and later start your guided forest walk by a ranger guide to search for the giant endangered mountain gorillas. During your walk, you many encounter other wildlife species besides Gorillas such as chimpanzees, black and white colombus monkeys, vervet monkeys, bush pigs, forest elephants, many bird species, butterflies and many others.
The time taken while looking for mountain gorillas depends on the location and movements of the allocated gorilla family. Upon finding them, you will spend a maximum of 1 hour to watch them, take photos, follow their moves and ask your ranger as many questions as possible. Return to the starting point to pick your tracking certificate, enjoy your lunch and later drive to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation. Dinner and Overnight Stay.
Day 5: Canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi and Transfer back to Entebbe International Airport
So sad it’s the last day of the 5 Days Uganda Gorillas, Wildlife and Chimpanzee Trekking. Rise up early morning for a delicious breakfast, afterwards go for your early morning canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi which will take you to visit several islands. This Lake has over 29 small islands and each of them has its unique exciting story.
So, visiting some of the most known Islands like Akampene Island was used to punish all those girls who were found pregnant before marriage by isolating them on the island to death. After enjoying your morning boat riding, return to your lodge to pick up your bags, check out and embark on your return drive to Entebbe international airport with an en-route stop to have lunch at Igongo cultural center and then proceed with your drive straight to Entebbe international airport to end your 5 days Uganda Gorillas Wildlife Safari in Uganda.
