This safari will bring you close to the endangered mountain gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is located in South Western region of Uganda in Kanungu district. It is best known for Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience, The Park has almost half of the Word’s population of Mountain Gorillas with a population of about 459 individual mountain gorillas, 21 habituated gorilla families in the different sectors of the park like Nkuringo, Buhoma, Rushaga and Ruhija which gives a great opportunity for Gorilla Trekking g and Gorilla Habituation. 5 Days Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari Experience

Queen Elizabeth National Park dubbed as “The Medley of Wonders”. The park has a variety of offerings ranging from a visit to the Salty lake in Katwe, various mammal species of about 95 like the tree climbing lions at Ishasha sector, the 4 members of the Big 5 like Elephants, Buffaloes, Leopards, Lions among other species like Antelopes, spotted hyenas, Hippos and endangered chimpanzees. The park also offers over 600 bird species to the birders like the grey crowned crane, handsome francolin, martial eagle, grey crowned heron among others and also an insight of the Nile crocodiles, Giant Hippos at Kazinga channel. You will experience the nature smile of Africa!

 

Day 1: Fly from Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Your journey starts from Entebbe International Airport where you will board a domestic flight to Kisoro Airfield. Our representative be waiting at Kisoro Airfield to drive you to the lodge. The 45-minute drive runs along a beautiful jeep track that dips into villages and skirts steep hills with stunning views of the lake below. Offering some of the best views in Uganda, Buhoma Lodge is perched on a peninsula overlooking a series of small islands scattered across the water and the volcanoes from the Virunga Range rising out of the mist in the distance. Day 2: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park – Gorilla trekking

Day 2 of your 5 Days Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari Experience starts with an early morning breakfast. Wake up and have a heavy breakfast, Wear appropriate clothing like long sleeved shirts, long pair of jean or karky trousers, water proof boots, and a round cap. Pack some snacks and drinking water to help you during the trek since it is a 4 hours trek depending on the location of the Mountain Gorillas. Proceed to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about the Do’s and the Don’ts of the park when you are with the Mountain Gorillas.

After the briefing, you will be assigned a park ranger and one Gorilla family to trek.  Your trekking experience will be an exciting, yet challenging, journey along forested (often muddy and slippery) slopes, tangled vines, thick vegetation and bamboo forests before you reach the territory of these gentle giants. En-route, your ranger will point out telltale signs of previous gorilla activity, like dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots. Depending on the location of the gorillas on any given day the walk can take anything from 2 to 7 hours. Once the family of gorillas have been located, settle in to your surroundings and enjoy the hour you have to quietly observe these fascinating primates. Dinner and Overnight Stay.

 

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will have a relaxed breakfast, and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park through Ishasha Sector for a short safari in search of tree-climbing lions. On a lucky mid-morning you will sight the tree-climbing lions lounging on fig trees cooling off. You will go for a savannah picnic lunch at the Ishasha River while watching hundreds of hippos. You’ll drive for 2 hours to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

 

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

The day 4 of 5 Days Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari Experience will begin with a cup of coffee as a wake-up call. You will then leave for a morning safari before sunrise. You’ll drive towards the northern part of the park while viewing the foothills of Mount Rwenzori and the sunrise behind you. You’ll look out for lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants over five species of antelopes, and various bird species such as the African spoonbills, pied kingfishers, pelicans, kingfishers, and vultures.

You will go back for a full breakfast and relax at the poolside. You’ll have an early lunch, and drive to Mweya Peninsular for a private boat cruise with drinks and snacks. Cruise for two hours while enjoying different wildlife on the shores of Kazinga Channel like crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes drinking water and cooling off by the shores, and over 100 species of birds both migrants and immigrants. Later drive back to the lodge for relaxed evening. Dinner and Overnight Stay.

 

Day 5: Transfer back to Entebbe International Airport

You will enjoy your delicious breakfast on this last day of the 5 Days Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari Experience by the terrace while viewing the savannah landscape and foothills of the mountains of the moon, you will drive to Kisoro Airfield through the national park for your internal flight to Entebbe. You will check in your day room in Entebbe as you wait for your flight back home.
