4 Days Primates and Culture Adventure
This 4 Days Primates and Culture Adventure gives you an experience to explore the Rwandan culture and primates. The primates include gorillas and golden monkeys in the Volcanoes National Park located in the Northern province of Rwanda. It is a 3-4 hour drive from Kigali the capital city of Rwanda.
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
On arrival at Kigali International Airport. After all the airport formalities, our representative outside the customs and Immigration hall will be waiting to warmly welcome you. You’ll transfer to Musanze and drop off at your hotel of residence. Your overnight stay will be at your hotel of residence as you start the 4 Days Primates and Culture Adventure.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Early morning after breakfast, you will transfer to the park reception. After arriving at the park reception for registration, you will have a briefing and grouping. After all the park formalities, you will transfer to the starting point and then embark on the lifetime experience of trekking the mountain gorillas. Once the gorillas are spotted, you are allowed to spend one hour looking at them while playing, feeding, and taking pictures with short videos.
Some gorilla families are elusive and therefore trekking may take the whole day. You will get back to the basement for lunch and take a rest.
Day 3: Golden Monkey and Ibyiwacu
In the early morning breakfast, you will transfer to the park reception for a briefing, registration, and grouping. After all the park formalities, you will embark on the journey to golden monkey trekking. It is now believed that they are the only feasible population of golden monkeys residing in Volcanoes National Park. They are beautiful and endangered primates that have become quite habituated to humans, making it possible to observe.
You will get back to the lodge and have lunch.
After lunch, you will transfer to Ibyiwacu Cultural Village for community tours. Ibyiwacu cultural village gives you a chance to share with local people home and heritage treasures including lifestyles, activities, artifacts, and ways of living of Rwandans. Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village showcases the ways of living, traditional lifestyles, and dances.
Day 4: Transfer to Kigali
After a morning breakfast, you will check out formalities and settle any outstanding. You will transfer to Kigali and be dropped off at Kigali International Airport. This marks the end of your 4 Days Primates and Culture Adventure.
