16 Days Exploration of Uganda Safari and Savannah Holiday
Experience Uganda from north to south on this 16 Days Exploration of Uganda Safari and Savannah Holiday: Kidepo Valley NP to Bwindi Impenetrable NP. Start by heading to the untouched wilderness of Kidepo. From there continue the journey to the south with highlights of boat-cruise, game-drives and chimps trekking on the way. In the south you will meet the gentle giants of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the Mountain Gorillas. Along the way you discover Uganda’s varied nature and friendly people.
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe airport
Your Safari Journey will begin with arrival at Entebbe International Airport, Here you will be met by Karumuna Safaris Official Driver who will help you get to your hotel in kampala, where you will have bed and breakfast as you get ready for your safari the next day.
Day 2: Start the drive towards Kidepo Valley National Park
You will have an early Breakfast, followed by a briefing by our Tour Guides who will advise on how the Safari will be conducted and futher restating the Itinerary.
We then start driving north, Targeting lunch in Gulu/ enroute, Uganda’s second biggest town. On our way there is alot of Uganda’s Natural features, villages and Rural settings to View and appreciate Before getting to kitgum town for the night.
Day 3: Evening Game-drive in Kidepo Valley National Park
After our breakfast on your day 3 of 16 Days Exploration of Uganda Safari and Savannah Holiday, we embark on a Journey further East North of Uganda to the Kidepo valley National Park. Kidepo is one of the wildest and most spectacular reserves in Africa. This park is studded with hills, rocky grounds.
Expect not to miss the wild life in this area like the Elephants, herds of Buffaloes, Jackals, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Klipspringer and possibly Lions, you also have an opportunity to visit the lions Rock, where you can even opt to camp in the wild if interested. You also have a great opportunity to capture your best pictures if your a photography lover.
Day 4: Morning game-drive and afternoon meeting with Karamojong people
After an early breakfast, we go for a morning game drive to Kanangorok hot spring area crossing the sand river. A variety of animals can be seen roaming around including Ostrich connecting back for lunch. There is an opportunity to experience the sand river which dries up in the dry season.
In the afternoon have a cultural experience that will bring you into contact with Karamojong peoples at Karenna and Kapedo. Meet the local elders and have an opportunity to interact with them. Enjoy a cultural experience as they will show you the kraals, the grinding stones, there famous karamoja dance and much more.
Day 5: Transfer to Gulu
Transfer to Gulu on your day 5 of 16 Days Exploration of Uganda Safari and Savannah Holiday. As we drive viewing some game. On arrival we have a self – guided walk in Uganda’s biggest northern town, also the greatest hub of Africa’s´ newest country South Sudan. You get an opportunity to move around and learn from lifestyle in this Town. There is an opportunity and option to do shopping and try out the entertainment in this town.
Day 6: Murchison Falls National Park The Giraffe Paradise
We rise a little early and embark on our journey to Murchison Falls. We have our lunch after check-in at our accommodation and after a good rest, in the afternoon a super highlight is the 3hours Boat ride to the base of Falls where you get to see the Hippos! Nile crocodiles, elephants and a variety of beautiful bird species along the banks. If you are a keen birder this might be your moment. After this tour we get back to our accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Game-drive in Murchison Falls National Park
An early Breakfast and then we head for the Game drive for the most likelihood Big cats hunting, Elephants, Giraffes, Buffalos, we also get an opportunity to view a cocktail of Birds and mammals. After lunch we visit the top of the falls. At Murchison Falls the Nile is pushed through a small cliff and flows down powerfully, an impressive sight. Continue to Budongo forest where we will spend the night enjoying the sounds of the jungle.
Day 8: Chimps Trekking in Budongo forest and transfer to Hoima. We have an early morning then get ready for our Chimps trekking experience in Budongo Forest.
On this day 8 of your 16 Days Exploration of Uganda Safari and Savannah Holiday, you have an opportunity to Walk through the fascinating jungle and have an amazing meeting with the wild in this place, the chimpanzees. There are also a variety of birds that can be of great interest to you if your a bird lover. After this trek transfer to Hoima to relax at the hotel in the afternoon.
Day 9: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast transfer towards Kibale forest, With our target to have lunch in Fort portal. A punctuation of stopovers at sceneries like the Rift valley escarpment on Lake Albert – typical African village setup in the far countryside and tea plantations along the drive offer us chances of stretching. We check in late afternoon enjoying the views of the crater lakes areas bordering Kibale Forest.
Day 10: Explore Kibale Forest National Park and community walk in Kyambura
We leave our Hotel and get out to Explore the Kibale crater area, we visit Nkuruba lake different species of Monkeys red colobus, red tailed monkey and bush babies. More in the forest canopy colored aviation creatures, butterflies various bird species. Like the native Great blue Turaco, joyful greenbul, olive long tailed cuckoo, the superb black bee eater. After our Lunch we transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, in the late afternoon after arriving at the lodge in Kyambura. We stretch our legs with a community walk to the close by village and beautiful crater lake.
Day 11: Game-drive and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Begin your day 11 your 16 Days Exploration of Uganda Safari and Savannah Holiday at Queen Elizabeth National Park with an early game drive. We are exposed to diverse animals, Big 5 members Elephants, Buffalos, big cats- Lions, Leopards, we also encounter warthogs- Hunchback carnivals. Like Hyenas are spotted along the Circuits.
There is a rich bird life especially our version of storks in the wetland sports as we reach the Flamingoes in the salt lakes. After lunch it is time for the Classic highlight of the 2hrs boat-cruise on the famous Kazinga channel, linking Lake George to lake Edward. Here we see land and water Adapted Hippopotamuses Yawning, the Nile crocodile gaping along the Banks!
Day 12: Bwindi via Ishasha’s tree-climbing lions
After our Breakfast, We will drive off in the adventurous vast savannah of the Ishasa Southern area of Queen Elizabeth NP with Topis. The southern version of Elephants and hopefully with the lions high in the Fig tree branches. This is one of two areas in Africa where lions have the habit of regularly climbing trees to take a rest. Transfer on to Bwindi mountain gorillas through a beautiful drive taking you from the savanna. Via cultivated hills to the misty Jungle covered mountains of Bwindi.
Day 13: Gorilla trekking – Bwindi National Park
Early breakfast at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is the home to the forest giants that are cousins to human beings, the mountain gorillas. You will be taken in a group by a specialized guide into the jungle for your gorilla trekking adventure. Trek through the beautiful nature and spend one hour with the gorillas, an unforgettable experience. This Impenetrable Forest is also full of birds, butterflies and plant species plus forest hog, forest elephants, statungas and dikers.
Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi after the trek through cultivated hills, here you have time to relax from your Trek with a great view of Ugandas Deepest lake.
Day 14: Relaxation by Lake Bunyonyi
Have a free day to relax by beautiful Lake Bunyonyi. There is a short list of optional activities: canoeing, swimming (safe in this lake), hiking on Bushara trail along the lake-shores. Return to the hotel and relax / canoe ride along Lake Bunyonyi with small resident and exotic bird species singing.
Day 15: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast transfer to Lake Mburo, Located along the southern Highway. We Leave Lake Bunyonyi and continue driving through the hilly areas (switzerland of Africa). On Arrival in the park, we checkin and have lunch at the lodge before heading for an afternoon game drive to view of Zebras, Topis, Warthogs, cape buffaloes and impalas.
Day 16: Safari walk in Lake Mburo National Park and transfer to Entebbe airport
We have an Early morning safari walk, get early up to visit the hyenas den, chance to see Leopards, zebras, waterbucks, birds buffaloes in there day break jungle life! Get back for breakfast and start the drive to Entebbe/Kampala. Have an early lunch in Masaka and a stopover at the Equator. We have reached the end of our safari and drive back through Kampala to Entebbe for our flight in the evening.
