14 Days Explore Uganda Safari, Gorilla and Chimpanzee
Welcome to 14 Days Explore Uganda Safari, Gorilla and Chimpanzee and transfer to Murchison Falls where you expect a boat trip to the base of the falls and game drive. Head to Kibale for chimp tracking and also explore the crater lakes. From Kibale, transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP. Boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. The next day Proceed to Bwindi for gorilla experience and you will have a relaxation at Lake Bunyonyi. Transfer to Lake Mburo NP and enjoy a park walk plus some game drive. After transfer back to Entebbe.
Day 1: Arrival and Pickup from Entebbe International Airport
On arrival, you will be welcomed by a driver guide from Life time Holidays for your 14 Days Explore Uganda Safari, Gorilla and Chimpanzee. Thereafter, you will be transferred to your booked accommodation. In case you have had an early landing in Uganda, you may opt to go out for a late afternoon ride around Kampala City or else just relax at the accommodation and later enjoy your dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park with stopover at Rhino Sanctuary
After breakfast, embark on a journey via Hoima Masindi route to Murchison Falls NP, The highlights of this park include: the roaring rapids of the Murchison, the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park where you will have the chance of viewing lions, giraffes, buffalo and elephants. Then surely you will be fascinated by the concentration of hippos and the Nile crocodiles here. For birders, Murchison Falls boasts 450 bird species including the elusive rare shoebill stork, dwarf king fisher, the white-thigh hornbill among others stopover, make a visit to Zziwa Rhino sanctuary for your first Big 5 experience where you will have an hour of rhino tracking. Another stop will be in Masindi in order to enjoy your lunch. Continue to the park and check in to your accommodation to relax for the Evening.
Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park – Game Drive and Boat Cruise at Albert Nile
On your day 3 of your 14 Days Explore Uganda Safari, Gorilla and Chimpanzee you will have an early breakfast. Depart for an early morning game drive across the rolling plains of the Park where you will have the opportunity of viewing lions, giraffes, buffalo and elephants and bird species. After come for lunch and relaxation. After lunch you will go for a boat cruise on Albert Nile which will enable you to view water loving animals and birds including Crocodiles and hippos and continue with a hike to the top of the falls. Lastly come back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, Depart Murchison Fall National drive to Kibale Forest National Park which is popular for its primates that is chimpanzees and monkeys which are seen regularly swinging on trees within the park and these include colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys and others heading at Kibale forest guest house for check in, dinner and an overnight.
Day 5: Kibale Forest National Park – Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi swamp
After breakfast you will go at chimpanzee information point for a briefing and thereafter you will go with a senior ranger guide to trek the chimps in the forest and on this activity you will also have a chance of viewing other primates. Once you locate the chimpanzees, you will have an hour with them and come back at your new resident for relaxation and lunch.
In the afternoon day 5 of your 14 Days Explore Uganda Safari, Gorilla and Chimpanzee, you will go out for a walk at the side of Bigodi swamp. The Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is a fascinating area, Located in Magombe swamp with its extensive bio-diversity and also a paradise for bird species. Thereafter come back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Have an early morning cup of coffee and depart Kibale Forest National Park heading to Queen Elizabeth National Park located at the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountain range, adjacent to Lake Edward and Lake George. The park’s diverse ecosystem which include sprawling Savannah makes it the ideal habitat for classic big game, ten primate species including chimpanzees and over 600 species of birds.
Here you will reach earlier enough to relax, have lunch and in the afternoon you will go for boat safari along Kazinga channel where you expect to view water loving animals such as the water buffaloes, Elephants, hippos, crocodiles and bird species on the shores of the channel such as fish Eagle among others. Then after come back for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Morning Game Drive and Explosion Crater Drive
After an early morning breakfast, go for a morning game drive in search for wildlife along the Kasenyi plains and here you will have a chance to view the Tree climbing Lions, Elephants Bush bucks, cape buffaloes, warthogs among others. Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation and in the afternoon you will go for the explosion crater drive. The drive is basically sightseeing with very spectacular view of the breathtaking scenery in and around Queen and there is also a chance of viewing animals like Buffaloes among others then come back for dinner and an overnight.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Katwe and Evening Game Drive
Wake and take a cup of coffee, relax a bit and proceed to Lake Katwe to experience the salt mining process. Here you will have a chance to interact with the Local people found within the area and if interested you can buy some souvenirs to support the locals. After you will come back at your lodge for lunch, relaxation and later in the evening you will go for an evening game drive in search for wild animals such as Leopard( though had to spot), Lions among other. Later come back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 9: Transfer to Ishasha sector located in the Southern part of the park
Have breakfast then set off for a breathtaking game viewing experience in the Ishasha area of Queen Elizabeth National Park famously known for its resident tree-climbing lions. The sight will be spectacular! You will also be able to View other wildlife such as the Uganda kobs, Cape buffaloes, elephants and warthogs in addition to the tree-climbing lions. Thereafter, head to your accommodation for relaxation, dinner and later overnight.
Day 10: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable Forest National Park game via Ishasha sector for tree-climbing lions
After breakfast. Go for more tree-climbing lions’ sighting and thereafter transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi is a big habitat for mountain gorillas in Uganda (harboring an estimated 400 mountain gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population), including several habituated groups, which can be tracked. With a strenuous day ahead, you will do less on arrival but just check-in your accommodation, relax as you prepare for the Bwindi gorilla trekking experience the following day.
Day 11: Bwindi impenetrable Forest National Park – Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Cultural Walk
After an early morning breakfast, you will go at Gorilla information center for briefing after you will enter the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure. The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular! The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. Once you locate a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome, exciting experience to be long savored.
Return to your lodge for some rest time and lunch then in the afternoon you will go for Batwa cultural walk experience where you will have time to interact with the local people then come back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 12: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation
After morning breakfast on your 14 Days Explore Uganda Safari, Gorilla and Chimpanzee, you will proceed to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation with an impeccable stunning view of the Bunyonyi little islands. Lake Bunyonyi is framed by lush, green-terraced hills though it’s the 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water that make it most magical – you could admire them all day.
After lunch, you will go and explore Lake Bunyonyi using a canoe and this will give you a chance to watch very many bird species found on this lake then after come back for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 13: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park for an Evening Game Drive
Have breakfast and set off to Lake Mburo NP. Drive past the intensely terraced Kigezi hill slopes into Mbarara town for Lunch and finally Lake Mburo NP. Arrive in the park in the afternoon and take some rest before proceeding out for the late afternoon (evening) game viewing.
On the game drive, expect to see the gigantic eland antelopes, zebras in big numbers, topis, impalas, warthogs, Uganda kobs and Cape buffaloes among others. Later, relax at the accommodation, dinner and an overnight.
Day 14: Depart Lake Mburo National Park to Entebbe international Airport
Enjoy your early breakfast and proceed for the Mburo morning park/nature walk with a ranger guide as you enjoy your last day of 14 Days Explore Uganda Safari, Gorilla and Chimpanzee. On this early morning guided walk, you often encounter hyenas that are returning to their dens after a night of being on the prowl. Also, you will have the opportunity to encounter (at close range): Zebras, Giraffes and Eland, Topi and other antelopes, Cape buffaloes among others.
Take the Trail to the top of the hills and see Lake Mburo and beyond. From this vantage point, you will have a great view of 9 of the twelve lakes surrounding Lake Mburo NP and after come back to your lodge for check out and proceed with your journey to Entebbe. You will have your stopover in Masaka Town for Lunch and at the equator to take some photos and proceed back to Entebbe international Airport.
