The 10 Days Uganda Safari Primates and Wildlife Safari Starts from Murchison Falls National Park will take you to the strongest waterfalls. Kibale Forest National park

known for being “The Primate Capital of the World” having about 1500 Chimpanzees. Which gives a great opportunity for Chimpanzee trekking and Habituation, the park is located in Kabarole District. It is also a home to 120 mammal species like warthogs, bushbucks, bush pigs, antelopes, and over 300 bird species like hornbills, black billed turaco, kingfisher. Queen Elizabeth National Park

The safari takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park for wild game viewing. Queen Elizabeth National Park dubbed as “The Medley of Wonders”. The park has a variety of offerings ranging from a visit to the Salty lake in Katwe. Various mammal species of about 95 like the tree climbing lions at Ishasha sector, the 4 members of the Big 5 like Elephants, Buffaloes, Leopards, Lions. Among other species like Antelopes, spotted hyenas, Hippos and endangered chimpanzees. The park also offers over 600 bird species to the birders like the grey crowned crane, handsome francolin, martial eagle, grey crowned heron among others. And also an insight of the Nile crocodiles, Giant Hippos at Kazinga channel. You will experience the nature smile of Africa!

Bwindi impenetrable forest

For the wonderful and more thrilling mountain gorilla trekking. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is located in South Western region of Uganda in Kanungu district. It is best known for Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience. The Park has almost half of the Word’s population of Mountain Gorillas with a population of about 459 individual mountain gorillas, 21 habituated gorilla families in the different sectors of the park like Nkuringo, Buhoma, Rushaga and Ruhija. Which gives a great opportunity for Gorilla Trekking g and Gorilla Habituation.

Lake Bunyonyi

For a relaxation a place of little birds. The Trip will end at Lake Bunyonyi is located in the extreme border between Uganda and Rwanda. And it is known for offering a great rest and relaxation to travelers due to its beautiful and breathtaking views.

Lake Mburo National Park

“whispers of the wild” and you will be able to sight the largest number of zebras in Uganda, the Park is one of the smallest parks in Uganda. It is a home to a variety of wildlife including Impalas, buffaloes, bush pig, topi, crocodiles, elands, buffalos, oribi, waterbuck, leopard etc. Bird species like African Fin foot, pied kingfisher, bare faced go away, Red faced barbet, Greater painted snipe, Blue breasted kingfisher, striped kingfisher etc.  Here you will relax and enjoy the scenery. The Park’s topography and vegetation are made of falling and raising hillsides, rocky outcrops, open and wooden grassland, rich acacia tree valleys, forests, bushes and thickets together with permanent and seasonal swamps along the shores of the Lakes.

 

Day 1: Arrival and Pickup from Entebbe International Airport

You will arrive at the Entebbe International Airport and be warmly welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the 10 Days Uganda Safari Primates and Wildlife Safari and you will be transferred to your hotel in Kampala. If times allows you can do a city tour depending on the time of your arrival, you will explore the vibrant and chaotic city of Kampala. You’ll discover historical and political sites including the ancient tombs of the Kabakas, where the Buganda people laid their kings to rest, or the Bahai Temple.

Eat out: Kampala is a town full of culinary wonders. You can stray out from your hotel to taste some of the eclectic cuisine of the region including Kampala’s delicious Indian food. Dinner and Overnight Stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa rhino sanctuary

After a delicious breakfast, you’ll embark on a journey to Murchison Falls National Park. The highlights of this park include the roaring rapids of the Murchison, and the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park where you will have the chance of viewing lions, giraffes, hartebeests, buffalos, and elephants. Then, you will be fascinated by the concentration of hippos and Nile crocodiles here. For birders, Murchison Falls boasts 450 bird species including the elusive shoebill stork, dwarf king fisher, the white-thigh hornbill, and the Goliath heron among others.

While en route, you’ll make a detour to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for your first Big Five experience where you will have an hour of rhino tracking. Another stop will be in Masindi to enjoy your lunch. You’ll continue to the park and check in to your accommodation to relax for the evening. Dinner and Overnight Stay.

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park – Morning Game Drive and Launch Boat Trip to the Base of the falls

Have your breakfast and then depart for an early morning game drive across the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest national park. Here you will have the opportunity of viewing lions, giraffes, hartebeests, buffalo, and elephants. For any birder, this area supports the secretary bird, and black-chested snake eagle to name a few.

Return to your accommodation for lunch. After lunch, you will head out for the boat trip to the base of Murchison Falls where you will also be able to catch sight of more animals including hippos, crocodiles and several water birds. Continue with a hike (if you like) to the top of the falls. The hike may be a strenuous one but the thrill of reaching the top is breathtaking. Miss it only if you must. After the hike, you will have an evening game drive on your way to the lodge. Return to your accommodation and have a relaxed evening. Dinner and Overnight Stay.

 

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park – Bigodi Wetland

Upon arrival on the day 4 of your 10 Days Uganda Safari Primates and Wildlife Safari. The afternoon is dedicated to exploring the enchanting Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. A guided visit to this ecological haven offers a unique opportunity. To witness a variety of bird species, colorful butterflies, and curious monkeys in their natural habitat. The lush vegetation and the serene ambiance of Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary provide a tranquil setting for an immersive nature experience. Making it a perfect complement to your Ugandan adventure. Dinner and Overnight Stay.

Day 5: Kibale Forest National Park – Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early breakfast on your day 5 of 10 Days Uganda Safari Primates and Wildlife Safari, you will proceed to the park headquarters. Where you will join other trackers who will have come for the afternoon trek at the ranger’s post. After a short briefing by one of the park officials, you will be allocated a ranger guide. Who will lead the group into the forest to find the chimpanzees. It is said that there are over 1500 chimpanzees in this forest making it one of the best places for chimpanzee trekking in Africa.

During the trek, you will also encounter other primates such as black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, Olive baboons etc. Birds like Yellow-billed Barbet, Western Nicator, and Superb Sunbird etc.  Upon finding them, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour with them to learn about their behaviors. Social life, how they communicate among others. After this experience, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Lion and Leopard Tracking and Afternoon Boat Ride along the Kazinga Channel – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

The day begins with an early morning safari drive through the vast landscapes of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Accompanied by expert guides and trackers, you’ll embark on a thrilling expedition to locate and observe lions and leopards in their natural habitat. Queen Elizabeth National Park is renowned for its thriving populations of these majestic big cats. And the experienced guides will share their knowledge about their behaviors, habitats, and conservation efforts.

In the afternoon, you will embark on a relaxing yet captivating boat safari along the Kazinga Channel. This 40-kilometer-long natural channel connects Lake George and Lake Edward, creating a haven for diverse wildlife. The boat safari offers a unique perspective. Allowing you to witness an abundance of aquatic and terrestrial species along the shores. Later you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for Dinner and Overnight Stay.

Day 7: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park – Gorilla trekking – Batwa Cultural Encounter

On this day after having your heavy breakfast, drive to the park information center for briefing about the do’s and don’ts to follow during Gorilla Trekking. And later start your guided forest walk by a ranger guide to search for the giant endangered mountain gorillas. During your walk, you many encounter other wildlife species besides Gorillas such as chimpanzees, black and white colombus monkeys, vervet monkeys, bush pigs, forest elephants, many bird species, butterflies and many others. The time taken while looking for mountain gorillas depends on the location and movements of the allocated gorilla family. Upon finding them, you will spend a maximum of 1 hour to watch them, take photos, follow their moves and ask your ranger as many questions as possible.

Later in the Evening, you will visit the Batwa community who were the early inhabitants of the ancient Impenetrable forest before it became a National park and also a UNESCO World heritage site in 1992 and learn about their social ways of life, how they hunt for food in their ancient ways, visit a Batwa homestead to watch how they dance and also hear ancient legends and their folk songs and then you will return back to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight.

 

Day 8: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation

The road to Lake Bunyonyi unveils stunning vistas, with the lush landscape and rolling hills creating a serene backdrop. Upon reaching the shores of Lake Bunyonyi, you are greeted by the calming waters and the gentle breeze that sweeps across the lake.

Meanwhile, check into your chosen lakeside accommodation, where the panoramic views and peaceful ambiance invite you to unwind. Lake Bunyonyi, known as the “Switzerland of Africa,” offers a perfect setting for relaxation. You may choose to take a leisurely boat ride on the lake, explore the surrounding islands, or simply enjoy the tranquility of the lakeside.

Lake Bunyonyi, with its breathtaking scenery and serene atmosphere, serves as a perfect interlude between wildlife adventures, allowing you to rejuvenate and reflect on the incredible experiences of your Ugandan safari. Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and Afternoon Game Drive

Day 10: Lake Mburo National Park – Morning walking safari and Transfer to Entebbe airport for departure via the Uganda Equator
